It’s amazing how quickly the time goes. One moment it’s the beginning of the year, and the next it’s August 28, 2009.

I’ve been enjoying my house. I purchased a little abode of my own in May of this year. Actually, I have officially owned it for three months as of today. I’ve already forgotten to pay some bills, so I suppose that I’m settling into home-ownership well.

I have a room mate, Martinah, and I couldn’t have wished for a better one. For those of you who know her, she is just about the sweetest, most genuine person I know. Puts me to shame, but also drives me to do better.

Red Flame Phlox

I’m having my first non-family event this weekend. It ought to be fun. A baby shower for a neighbor. I love having my own place. I’m thinking of having more little get-togethers as time goes on, but for now, I am loving having the space, and quiet, that my home gives me.

I planted flowers in the front bed. We’ll see if they have time to bloom before the frost sets in. It’s looking dark for the poor red phlox. Just in case it doesn’t work out, here’s a picture of it for your reference.
