It’s been so long since that happened, I can’t even remember the last time it was.

This was very cool. I was thinking about a conversation between Peter and Jesus:

Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

-John 6:67-68

And truly, once someone has lived a life that is hard on the heels of Christ, there is nothing better in the world. Nothing else even comes close. So I started to think about the fact that when we are saved, we are changed in that moment. Nothing else will satisfy us anymore. Nothing else but Jesus. And we fall, and we bring our offerings, but nothing is good enough. But Jesus forgives us and accepts us as we are.

I’m thankful for that grace.

I’ve included a file with an mp3 from service this weekend where I played this song for the first time. Christina Sali backed me up and I had Kelly Householder on bass and Matt Arnstam on drums.

We still haven’t made much headway on the new album. It appears, however, that I will not be making a hymn album with Engage Records. They want to go in a different direction with my music and I’m not opposed to doing so.

Steven and I have agreed that it would be a good idea to continue work on the hymn album on our own. We have laid down tracks for four of the songs so far. Steven is very, very picky, which is good. It’ll keep the quality level on the songs high. I’m hoping that this will be done sometime in the next year. This all depends, of course, on how the Engage Records stuff goes.

I started teaching two classes at Foundations Academy, a local private Christian school, and it’s been going well so far. The kids are great and the year looks like it will be very promising.

I was also on the radio last week. A local station, KFXD (kfxd.com), interviewed me about my American Idol experience. It was good fun and I really enjoyed myself. John and Chris are great to work with. If you have a chance, take a listen. The audio will be up on their site for the next few days.
